Sanford Bartlett

Sandy was called to the British Columbia bar in 1986. Since that time, he has argued in all levels of court in Canada, including the Supreme Court.

Throughout his career Sandy has worked extensively in numerous and diverse areas of law. He has expertise in all aspects of Real Estate, Corporate, Commercial, Personal Injury, and Family law. A long history of legal expertise in these areas of law necessarily incorporates and entails knowledge of concomitant law, such as contracts, trusts and estates.

There is a benefit to dealing with someone with this experience. Law is not a construct of air-tight compartments; it is a construct where rights, obligations, powers, liabilities, and immunities derive from extant legal principles. These “rights” driven molecular principles drive our law. But how those principles manifest in each area of law is not necessarily consistent. Each area of law occupies a specific space; it has a body of knowledge and it weights relevant interests. Legal issues, however, are not always self-contained. Cross-fertilization of expertise in various areas of law is invaluable. For example, consider a person getting a divorce who has family trusts, several corporations, and investment real estate. This matter would require an understanding of several areas of law. It would require a savvy appreciation of how these areas of law interact to seamlessly integrate the underlying principles and the appropriate legal tests.

Sandy has the experience to skilfully untangle your legal issues.
